Stago’s booth theme, “Coagulation Focused on You” highlighted Stago’s solutions for the highest capacity demands of the largest reference labs and health systems all the way down to rural and critical access facilities. The booth focused on value-based messaging demonstrating down-stream benefit to the hospital or system.

In that light, Stago presented The Health System Solution (IDN) with a family of instruments that could serve any laboratory need consisting of the STA Compact Max®, STA Evolution Plus®, STA Satellite® and STart®. They also had a Scientific Innovation Corner as well as a dedicated area for Automation with an STA Evolution Plus® and three additional STA Compact Max® available for demonstrations. In addition to the instruments on the Stago booth, there was also an STA Evolution Plus® on the Hettich booth demonstrating the efficiency of the Hettich work cell. Booth traffic was strong throughout the week with guests participating in demonstrations on all instruments in the Stago family.

A point of great success this year was Stago’s “Meet the Experts” sessions which included two on-booth presentations about “Maximizing Value with a Customer-Centered Approach to Service” by Mary Davis, PhD, Stago’s National Technical Support Manager, and two on-booth sessions by Dr. L. Eleanor Herriman MD, MBA (G2 Intelligence); one session addressing the impact of the value-based market on the laboratory in terms of commoditization of laboratory services as well as one session explaining how the laboratory can seize the opportunity to drive down-stream clinical value while decreasing costs and protecting the value of lab services. Dr. Herriman’s lectures drew large crowds for each session, overflowing to the aisles surrounding the booth.

Another special moment took place when Stago recognized Cancer Centers of America for the 100th STA Compact Max® placement with a crystal trophy.

The next AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo will be held in Atlanta, Georgia from July 28th through 30th.
